ONGOING Classes
FLUX Contemporary Movement Practice
For Intermediate and Advanced movers seeking to catalyze the fullness of your embodied intelligence.
From stillness, we begin each class with cultivating dynamic awareness in the here and now. Surrendering to a felt sense in the body comes the practice of being present to what is alive in the moment and moving beyond patterns of assumption, expectation, judgment or criticism. From an expanded range of awareness, root strength will be activated by channeling and siphoning your unique life force through the body from the ground up.
The exploration of anchored resistance will build the foundation to play within the forces of gravity, inertia, momentum and energy, in and out of the floor and through space. Each point of contact with the floor becomes a launch pad for moving power, information, conversation, and expression fluidly through the body and through the world. Through improvisation, structured movement, and partner work, this class will challenge and expand the diversity of your kinesthetic expression, multi-dimensionally within yourself, from self to each other, from relationship to community. You will leave with greater freedom to inhabit your fullest self with agency, authenticity and interconnection.

On the mat, in the comfort of your own space, this all-levels yoga inspired weekly practice moves participants through deep, full bodied exploration to awaken, strengthen and catalyze one’s body/mind awareness, dynamic capacity, and articulate expression. Weaving together traditional yogic sequencing, somatic exploration, and breath work, this multi-dimensional movement practice seeks to free oneself from stagnant habitual patterns, disconnection, excess tension, and unconscious constraints. Activating the creative life force between ground and space, core and periphery, self and relationship to others, each class aims to awaken and anchor the playful resiliency of the spine and gritty realness of your embodied aliveness. This practice intends to calm the nervous system, nourish the body, soothe the mind, and enliven the soul.
Here’s what participants are saying.
“Lauren's FLUX class is the best part of my week!! Not only is Lauren a beautiful mover and engaging choreographer, but she is amazingly skilled at building a community. Through the few years I've taken her class, she has always done such an amazing job of welcoming everyone who attends. Her movement is super somatic and feels great to dance. I look forward to every class!”

“I have attended a weekly yoga class with Lauren for years now, and I look forward to every session! Lauren is extremely knowledgeable about the physiology, musculature and skeleton of the human body, and incorporates her knowledge to customize every class for our group. Lauren is also an extremely ethical, kind, and empathetic person who exudes healing energy. I would recommend Lauren for any enterprise and am happy to speak personally with anyone to provide further information about Lauren if requested.”
